Reigning conference MVP Karolyne Blain blasted three goals, two less than a minute apart in the second half, as the Cape Breton Capers beat the Moncton Aigles Bleues 5-1 Sunday in AUS women's soccer.
At Moncton, Alyssa Armstrong and Tamara Brown also scored for the winners.
Alexandra Maltais scored for Moncton. It was 2-1 at the half.
Sunday, the Capers 30-game regular season unbeaten streak was brought to end on BMO Field today when the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds women's soccer team came back from behind to trump the Capers 3-2.
In the second half, the Varsity Reds came on strong to take the win behind goals from Eden Vanderlaan, Kayla Painter and Paige Vincent.
The Capers will be home this weekend when they face the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday and the Mount Allison Mounties Sunday.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. each day.
